If you are just starting to research which document scanner to buy, here are four reasons why the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 is the best document scanner solution to buy for most office scanning needs.
1. SPEED - The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 Scanner scans 20 color pages per minute (ppm). A typical "all-in-one printer" with scanning capability scans "one single-sided page" at around 10 pages per minute.
2. DUPLEX - The ScanSnap scanners are "duplex-scanners", allowing you to scan double-sided pages in one pass at the same speed. So technically, you can look at this as scanning 40 B&W/color pages per minute. The ScanSnap effectively identifies "blank pages" also, so if you have a document mixed with single and double sided pages, it automatically removes any empty pages so your electronic document is clean and efficient.
3. VERSATILITY - The ScanSnap easily handles different paper sizes automatically, for example standard letter and legal size papers, to various receipts and business cards, as well as scanning photos of various sizes and shapes. The ScanSnap scans into PDF format, but it also allows for other file formats. For example photo scans should be saved to JPG format. The ScanSnap allows you to save your files to appropriate folders on your computer, but you can also define and select different actions, such as emailing the document you just scanned.
4. ACROBAT 9 STANDARD - The ScanSnap S1500 is bundled with Adobe's Acrobat 9 Standard software. This is a powerful application that gives you many features in viewing, editing and creating PDF files. This software alone retails at 9, but it comes free when you buy Fujitsu's ScanSnap S1500 scanner. This benefit is often overlooked, but it truly adds to the value of Fujitsu's ScanSnap S1500.
